ClearEdge Power, the PEM fuel cell manufacturer based in Oregon, announced in August that it had raised US$73.5 million in Series E funding. The round was led by new investor, Artis Capital Management, and included Austrian company Güssing Renewable Energy, Southern California Gas Company, and existing investor Kohlberg Ventures. ClearEdge provides distributed generation solutions for light commercial applications. The company recorded annual revenue growth of 480% in the second quarter of this year and has sold systems to a number of industries including utilities, public sector and residential. It is reportedly planning to launch a fuel cell product for data centres later this year.
