TerraLUX, a Colorado based company which specialises in LED solutions, has closed a Series B funding round of US$18.3m. London based Generation Investment Management led the funding round. Existing investors in TerraLUX, Emerald Technology Eventures and Access Venture Partners, participated alongside Generation - as did the company founder, Anthony Catalano.
Catalano founded TerraLUX in 2003 and raised initial venture capital funding in 2009. The company develops, manufactures and distributes innovative high power LED lighting solutions for industrial, commercial, medical and retail markets and has a strong presence in the portable device space. It plans for further growth, focusing in particular on LED Engines and technologies for both OEM and retrofit applications.
Generation IM Partner, Colin le Duc, who joins the TerraLUX Board of Directors, commented that: “We are proud to bring TerraLUX into our investment portfolio”
