Dr Denis Gross head up Cleantech Research at Cleantech Investor, with responsbility for the research input into the Cleantech Infocus series. Dr Gross also works on a consultancy basis as an investment analyst at Equity Development. He has a background in engineering science (DPhil Oxford) and avionics and has worked extensively as an electronics business consultant to the global electronics industry, including semiconductor manufacturers. He has also worked extensively as a telecommunications/ technology specialist in investment banking with a speciality in Asian business. He has worked for Prismark Partners LLC, New York (researching biomedical nanotechnology and compound semiconductors); Williams de Broe, London (as the European Technology Analyst) and IMI Sigeco, London (as a Pan-European Telecommunications Analyst). At IMI Sigeco, he worked on the IPOs of Telstra, Telecom Italia and ST Microelectronics.
From 1986 to 1995 Dr Gross was the senior consultant and Director of BPA Technology and Management (Surrey, UK) responsible for the Compass Programme, a global product that set scenarios for the long-term development of the worldwide electronics industry, and related this to opportunities for equipment, component and materials companies. Around fifty companies subscribed to this programme, including IBM, AT&T, Siemens, Alcatel, NEC Semiconductor and Ericsson.
