Brazilian utility CPFL Energia has agreed to acquire Jantus, a wind farm developer which operates four farms with combined capacity of 210 MW in the State of Ceara. CPFL is paying BR$950 million for Jantus, which has debt of BR$544.2 million and has a project pipeline of 732 MW (of which 412 MW has been approved). In addition to the Ceara operations, Jantus is developing a project in Rio de Janeiro.

CPFL expects to have 368 MW of wind power operational, in addition to the capacity which Jantus brings to the company, by 2013.
