Simon Bourne

Simon joined ITM in 2002 as a Technical Manager and has been one of the leading scientists involved in the development of ITM's suite of patented membrane materials.

Before joining ITM Simon was a project engineer with Sonatest Plc and a researcher with the Ministry of Defence.

Simon has a BSc Hons in Materials Science from UMIST and a PhD from Cranfield University.


 

Dr Paul Brewster

Dr Paul Brewster is founder and CTO of Belfast based Pure Marine, where he is leading the development of the DUO wave energy converter and their marine energy project portfolio.
Paul is one of the most experienced technology leaders of offshore wave energy systems and is one of the pioneers in the ocean energy scene.

After completing his PhD at Queens University, on modeling wake effects of underwater turbines, Dr. Brewster designed advanced subsea systems on offshore Oil & Gas projects.  This Research and Engineering experience has been key to the emergence of Pure Marine in this exciting sector.


 

Tomas Freyman

Tomas is an Assistant Director in Ernst & Young's Energy and Environmental Infrastructure practice focusing on clean tech investments. Tomas has over ten years of lead advisory (including 7 years as a valuation specialist) experience across the cleantech space (most recently in the energy efficiency and solar sectors).


 

 

Johnny Gowdy

Johnny Gowdy is a Programme Director at Regen SW. He joined the Regen SW team in Novenber 2008 to head up the extended business support programme, and is now head of supply chain development.  He comes from a background in management consultancy, having being a partner with the global consultancy firm Accenture, were he worked within their energy practice. He has worked with many companies in the UK and abroad, mainly within the oil & gas and utility sectors. He has a wide range of business and commercial experience especially in the area of supply chain and business process improvement.

Johnny is a graduate from Queens College, Oxford University with a honours degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.


 

 

Martin McAdam

Martin McAdam joined Aquamarine Power as Chief Executive Officer in August 2008, bringing with him nearly ten years experience in the renewables industry. Martin joined Aquamarine Power from major renewable energy developer Airtricity. Martin was the founder and CEO of Airtricity’s North American operations and managed the sale of the company to E.On for £0.75bn in 2007. A highly experienced business leader, Martin previously held a number of technical and management roles in the utility sector. Martin completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School in 2004 and holds a BE (Hons.) in Chemical Engineering from University College Dublin. Martin is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland, a Fellow of Engineers Ireland and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce. Martin also sits on the council of CBI Scotland.
